Israel Adesanya, Former UFC Champ, Pleads Guilty to Drunk Driving Charge

Former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has pleaded guilty to drunk driving in New Zealand after being caught driving with 87 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood, exceeding the legal limit of 50 milligrams. Adesanya expressed remorse for his actions and will face sentencing on January 10, 2024. The maximum penalty for the offense is three months of jail time or a $2,680 fine. Adesanya recently lost the UFC middleweight title to Sean Strickland at UFC 293.
