"Jaylan Ford and Zach Frazier headline Big 12 preseason honors"

Texas linebacker Jaylan Ford has been named the Big 12 Conference's preseason defensive player of the year, while four of his teammates also made the all-conference team. Ford led the Longhorns in tackles, tackles for loss, sacks, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries, and interceptions last season. Wide receiver Xavier Worthy was the only unanimous selection on the preseason all-conference team. Other Longhorns players recognized include tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders, offensive lineman Kelvin Banks, and defensive lineman Byron Murphy.
