"Jonas Vingegaard's Ambitious Tour de France Opener with 1X Groupset"

Jonas Vingegaard of Jumbo-Visma will use a 1X version of SRAM's Red eTap AXS groupset for the hilly stage 1 of the Tour de France, becoming the first major GC contender to do so on such terrain. The 1X groupset, which features a single chainring and no front derailleur, offers weight savings and increased aerodynamic efficiency. Vingegaard will use a 50-tooth front chainring and a 10-36 rear cassette. The team will continue to use 1X groupsets on select stages throughout the race.
