LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels wins the Walter Camp national player of the year award and the Davey O'Brien Award as the top quarterback in college football, while Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr. wins the Maxwell Award for the nation's best all-around player. Payton Wilson of North Carolina State wins the Chuck Bednarik Award as the top defensive player and the Dick Butkus Award as the top linebacker. Daniels led the nation in total offense with 4,946 yards and 50 touchdowns, while Penix passed for 4,218 yards and led the Huskies into the College Football Playoff.
