MLB Integrates Negro Leagues Stats, Rewriting Baseball History
TL;DR
Major League Baseball will officially incorporate Negro Leagues statistics into its historical record, recognizing the achievements of 2,300 players, including legendary catcher Josh Gibson. This move corrects a historical oversight and integrates the provable statistics from the Negro Leagues into the MLB database, with no distinctions between the leagues. The updated database will go live, and a tribute game will be held to honor the Negro Leagues' legacy.
