Morrisville State's football team will be playing on an all black turf field at Drake Field this fall, aiming to create a unique identity and home-field advantage. While the idea of colored turf fields is not new, the black turf could potentially pose challenges due to increased heat absorption. The university is aware of the added risk and will monitor guidelines to ensure player safety. The Mustangs will debut the black field on September 16th against Catholic University.
