PGA Tour Adds Second 2028 Championship Series Event in Napa With Sompo Sponsorship

The PGA Tour announced a surprise second Championship Series event for 2028, with Sompo taking over sponsorship of the Napa stop at Silverado Resort starting next year. This event will join the Travelers Championship as part of a two-tier Championship/Challenger model running roughly February–August, featuring 23–24 events with $20 million purses. The model also includes majors, The Players, and an international team event, with a full schedule expected to be released in late January 2027 as more markets and multi-year deals emerge.
