Royals offense stalls as Tigers edge them 2-1 in Detroit

Kansas City fell 2-1 to Detroit to drop to 7-11, as the Royals’ offense once again failed to produce more than a couple of runs. Seth Lugo delivered a strong start (6.2 innings, 5 hits, 1 run, 7 strikeouts), but Kansas City’s only run came on Isbel’s two-out RBI in the fifth. Jac Caglianone was a bright spot, reaching base four times with three hits, a walk, plus a triple and an outfield assist. Eli Morgan allowed a homer to Wenceel Pérez in the eighth, and a late threat fizzled after a Caglianone single in the ninth. The Royals have lost three straight and will try to avoid the sweep tomorrow at 12:10 p.m. CT on Royals.TV.
