Tigers acquire Zach McKinstry in trade with Cubs

The Detroit Tigers have traded minor league pitcher Carlos Guzman to the Chicago Cubs for veteran utilityman Zack McKinstry. McKinstry will likely join Ryan Kreidler as the Tigers' two backup infielders to start the season. The Tigers also made several other roster moves, including optioning Akil Baddoo and Zack Short to Triple-A Toledo and reassigning several players to minor league camp. McKinstry is a good defender who can play all over the infield and hits left-handed, but he is not a long-term prospect.
