Young Leads USA as Group-Stage Grades Surface Mixed Results

Team USA finished the group stage of the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup 3-0, extending their World Cup win streak to 33. Jackie Young delivered the standout A+ performance and was the most consistent scorer; Caitlin Clark had a strong all-around showing (leading assists) but a rough Italy game and a 25% three-point rate, earning a B+. Breanna Stewart was superb in the Czechia game (19 points, 7 rebounds) and leads the team in reliability, while Angel Reese provided steady production and efficient shooting. Napheesa Collier showed improvement after injury but overall struggled, Aliyah Boston and Kahleah Copper earned mid-to-low marks, and Chelsea Gray (D+) struggled at the point. Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen had limited or incomplete opportunities. The U.S. now awaits their quarterfinal opponent (Hungary or Japan) with a few days off to regroup.
