Ex-Seahawk Chad Wheeler Receives 81-Month Sentence for Domestic Violence

Former Seattle Seahawks player Chad Wheeler has been sentenced to 81 months in state prison for first- and second-degree assault/domestic violence following a 2021 incident with his then-girlfriend, during which he pinned her down and choked her until she lost consciousness. The sentence also includes 36 months of probation, a mental health evaluation, and restitution. Wheeler, who has bipolar disorder, claimed he was experiencing a "manic episode" during the assault.
