MLS stars sprint toward World Cup 2026 last six spots

Six MLS players remain in the hunt for FIFA World Cup 2026 berths after this week’s UEFA and Intercontinental Playoffs. In UEFA, Herman Johansson (FC Dallas) for Sweden, Pavel Bucha (FC Cincinnati) for Czechia, and Anders Dreyer (San Diego FC) for Denmark are vying for two spots; in the Intercontinental Playoffs, Andre Blake (Philadelphia Union) and Ian Fray (Inter Miami CF) for Jamaica, and Efraín Morales (CF Montréal) for Bolivia are contesting two more. Winners join World Cup groups F (Netherlands/Japan/Tunisia), A (Mexico/South Korea/South Africa), K (Colombia/Portugal/Uzbekistan) and I (France/Norway/Senegal), respectively. Jamaica last qualified in 1998 and Bolivia in 1994.
