Oscar Pistorius Eligible for Parole After 10 Years for Killing Girlfriend

Oscar Pistorius, the former Paralympic gold medalist and Olympic runner, is up for parole more than 10 years after shooting and killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. The South African parole board will consider various factors, including his conduct in prison, participation in training courses, mental and physical state, likelihood of relapse, and risk to the public. Pistorius, known as the "Blade Runner" for his prosthetic legs, was convicted of murder in 2017 and sentenced to 13 years and five months in prison. His release could take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks after the parole board's decision.
