FTC Challenges Microsoft's Activision Layoffs Representation

The Federal Trade Commission has accused Microsoft of misleading representations regarding its pledge to allow Activision Blizzard to operate independently post-acquisition, following the recent layoffs of nearly 2,000 employees in its gaming division. The FTC filed a complaint, arguing that the downsizing contradicts Microsoft's previous statements and is seeking a temporary pause of the acquisition to investigate potential antitrust issues. Despite UK's approval, the FTC's concerns remain, and there's a possibility that Microsoft may be forced to divest all or part of Activision Blizzard.
