2K Games Eliminates PC Launcher, Streamlines Steam Access
TL;DR
2K has removed its PC games launcher from all titles on Steam and Epic Games Store, including the separate "2K Launcher Beta" from Civilization V. This change aims to simplify game launching, addressing user complaints about launchers causing issues. Games like BioShock and Marvel's Midnight Suns will now launch directly, while some, like Mafia Trilogy and XCOM 2, may still require the launcher for mod support.
