AI-Powered Voice Chat Moderation System Targets Toxic Players in Call of Duty

Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will feature an AI-powered voice chat moderation system to combat toxic behavior. The system, powered by the AI model ToxMod from Modulate, will use real-time voice chat moderation to identify and enforce against toxic speech, including hate speech, discriminatory language, and harassment. Activision reassured players that voice chat is monitored and recorded for moderation purposes, focusing on detecting harm rather than specific keywords. The system will categorize and flag toxic language based on the Call of Duty Code of Conduct, with enforcement determined by Activision. The beta of the tech will roll out on August 30, with the worldwide release set for November 10.
