Blizzard has changed its plans for what it will reset between seasons in Diablo 4, meaning that players will no longer have to rediscover every inch of Sanctuary or the Altars of Lilith. The amount of map that players have exposed going into the season in the eternal realm will be what they see in the season, and the Altars of Lilith that players have found will stay marked, along with the stat bonuses, obol capacity, and the renown claimed from finding each of them. However, players will still have to clear out dungeons and strongholds, as well as doing some side quests, to max out their renown.
