Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida has stated that there are no plans to make the game free-to-play, despite the expansion of the free trial. Yoshida emphasized the importance of revenue from expansion package sales to continue creating content. As the game celebrates its tenth anniversary, Yoshida also expressed no plans to move on to a new game, highlighting the success of the game's revival as A Realm Reborn.
