"Microsoft's Phil Spencer Reveals Overwhelming Demand for Starfield"

Microsoft's CEO of gaming, Phil Spencer, has stated that there is "huge demand" for the highly anticipated video game, Starfield. The game, which is being developed by Microsoft's Bethesda Game Studios, is set to be accessible to millions of players across various devices. While Microsoft aims to make its games widely available, it also wants to ensure its consoles have attractive features to compete with Sony's PlayStation and Nintendo's Switch. Gaming accounts for 6% of Microsoft's revenue, and the company's Xbox content and services revenue grew 5% in Q2. Starfield, an expansive open-world game, has received positive reviews and is currently the most wish-listed game on the Steam game store. While Spencer did not confirm if Starfield would debut on PlayStation, he assured that some of Activision's popular titles would remain available on the platform. Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard is expected to close by October 18, 2023.
