Blizzard is cracking down on Overwatch 2 console cheaters who use XIM devices to gain an unfair advantage with keyboard and mouse controls. The developer has detected the use of unapproved peripherals among higher ranked players and will issue permanent bans to extreme offenders. Starting in June, players caught using such devices will face temporary bans from Competitive modes and lose access to aim assist features. Blizzard is also considering adding official keyboard and mouse support for consoles to ensure fairness, while also addressing other issues such as player toxicity and match abandonment.
