Square Enix's AI tech preview receives scathing reviews on Steam

Square Enix's AI-driven reboot of the classic text-driven adventure game, The Portopia Serial Murder Case, has been a failure as both a classic revival and an AI experiment. The AI language model used to replace the old text parser is barely capable of responding to all but the most narrow of questions and commands, resulting in canned responses for most inputs. The game has received less than 20% positive reviews on Steam, making it the worst-rated game Square Enix has ever launched on the platform. The AI-generated dialog function was omitted due to the risk of generating unethical replies.
