Former head of the NYPD Captains Endowment Association, Roy Richter, was found dead by suicide in his Westchester home. Richter, who served in the NYPD for 33 years before retiring in 2020, chaired the union for 12 years and was highly respected within the department. His death occurred on his wife's birthday.
