"Ex-Apple Engineer Sentenced to Prison for Self-Driving Car IP Theft"

Former Apple engineer Xiaolang Zhang, who stole Project Titan trade secrets, has been sentenced to 120 days in prison and 3 years of supervised release, along with a restitution payment of $146,984.00. Zhang had taken parental leave from Apple and then moved to China, where he joined a startup. He was found to have stolen numerous files from Apple, including engineering schematics for autonomous vehicle technology. Zhang initially pled not guilty but later pled guilty in August 2022.
