'Karate Kid' Actor Buys Heiress Estate After Price Drop

Actor turned energy drink mogul, Scott Strader, has purchased the unique 85-acre Merkaba estate near Tenino for $2.3 million, a substantial reduction from its original $11 million asking price. The estate was built by South African De Beers diamond heiress Rebecca Oppenheimer and features a copper leaf-lined “reflection room” and a rectangular 80-foot-long saltwater pool that becomes an outdoor pool when window panels raise via hydraulics. Strader plans to recapture the home’s vibrancy and may turn it into a retreat.
