Thanks to new European Union rules, Epic Games will be launching the Epic Games Store on iPhone and bringing Fortnite back to iOS later this year. The EU's Digital Markets Act forces Apple to allow third-party app stores and sideloading on iOS devices. Epic's CEO, Tim Sweeney, criticizes Apple's restrictions and policies, calling them "hot garbage," but the company plans to proceed with bringing Fortnite and its store to iPhones in the EU unless Apple intervenes.
