Sony's PlayStation division acquires Audeze, expanding audio technology portfolio

Sony Interactive Entertainment, the division responsible for PlayStation, is acquiring high-end headphone maker Audeze to enhance the audio experience of PlayStation games. Audeze will continue to operate independently and produce products for multiple platforms, while benefiting from being part of the PlayStation ecosystem. The acquisition aligns with Sony's recent focus on new PlayStation audio products, including the Pulse Explore earbuds and Pulse Elite headset, which utilize planar magnetic drivers and a new technology called PlayStation Link for low latency and lossless audio. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
