Yale's Latest Smart Locks: Enhanced Features and Discounts

Yale's Matter-enabled smart lock, the Assure Lock SL, falls short in replacing the Nest x Yale lock due to the limitations of the Matter platform. While the hardware and setup of the lock are straightforward and user-friendly, the lack of granular controls and features through the Google Home app, such as setting auto-lock timers and creating guest codes, is a major drawback. The lock's reliance on Matter also means it cannot be controlled through the manufacturer's app. Despite its functional core features and compatibility with other smart home apps, the Yale Assure Lock SL with Matter may not be a long-term replacement for the Nest x Yale lock.
