Arrest Made in Fatal Stabbing of NYC Activist Caught on Camera

Brian Dowling, an 18-year-old Brooklyn man, has been charged with murder in the deadly stabbing of New York City activist Ryan Carson. Surveillance video shows Dowling approaching Carson and his girlfriend, kicking over scooters, and initiating a confrontation. Carson attempted to de-escalate the situation, but Dowling pulled out a knife and stabbed him three times, ultimately killing him. The suspect also kicked Carson in the chest, threatened his girlfriend, and spat in her face. Police do not believe Dowling knew the victims. Carson was known for his activism against opioid overdoses and was remembered as a community advocate.
