The body of 2-year-old Wynter Cole Smith, who had been missing since July 3 following a sexual assault and home invasion of her mother in Lansing, has been found on Detroit's east side. The suspect, Rashad Trice, was arrested but Wynter was not with him at the time. Trice, the ex-boyfriend of Wynter's mother, had taken the toddler after stabbing her and fled to Metro Detroit. He has been arraigned on multiple charges. The investigation is ongoing.
