Inside the Gilgo Beach Murders: Suspect's Court Appearance, Attorney's Defense, and Family's Ordeal

Rex Heuermann, the suspect in the Gilgo Beach murders, appeared in court where prosecutors turned over thousands of pages of documents and hours of surveillance video to his defense team. The families of the victims walked out of court in silence and grief after seeing the accused serial killer up close. Heuermann's defense attorney stated that there is no plea deal and they are prepared to go to trial. The Suffolk County District Attorney plans to try the case himself. Heuermann remains in custody as the extensive evidence is reviewed, including DNA, photos, videos, and weapons recovered from his home. Heuermann is linked to the murders of three women and is the prime suspect in the killing of a fourth woman.
