"Maryland Teen Arrested for School Shooting Manifesto"

An 18-year-old Maryland teenager, Alex Ye, has been arrested for allegedly planning a school shooting after authorities uncovered a 129-page "memoir" containing detailed descriptions of carrying out a shooting at a Montgomery County school. Ye, who has a history of mental health issues and previous hospitalizations, is currently held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit awaiting a bond hearing. The writings, which Ye initially described as fiction, raised concerns among a witness who alerted law enforcement. Montgomery County Public Schools stated that Ye has been attending classes virtually and has not physically attended school since late 2022.
