Off-duty Chicago police officer killed in overnight shooting.

A female Chicago police officer was shot and killed in the city's South Side Avalon Park neighborhood early Saturday morning. The officer had just completed her shift when she was shot. No one is in custody and police continue to investigate the incident. The officer had served on the force for three years. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has directed the superintendent to spare no expense in finding the people responsible for the shooting.
