Oscar Pistorius Granted Parole 10 Years After Girlfriend's Death

Oscar Pistorius, the double-amputee Olympic runner who shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in 2013, has been granted parole after serving 10 years in prison. Pistorius will be released on January 5, 2023, but will have to adhere to strict conditions, including attending anger management programs and performing community service. His parole will be in effect for five years. Pistorius was initially convicted of culpable homicide but was later convicted of murder.
