Subway Chokehold Tragedy: Jordan Neely's Life Marked by Loss and Death.

Jordan Neely, the homeless man who died after being held in a chokehold for 15 minutes on the subway, suffered from mental illness and depression after his mother was murdered by his stepfather in 2007. His aunt claims that he was not properly treated for his condition and fell through the cracks of the system. Neely had been living on the streets and had a recorded history of mental illness. The city medical examiner ruled his death a homicide due to compression of the neck. Prosecutors are considering pressing charges against the Marine who choked him.
