Trump's Clemency Recipient Eli Weinstein Faces New Fraud Charges

Eli Weinstein, a con man whose prison sentence was commuted by former President Donald Trump, is facing new fraud charges in New Jersey. Weinstein, along with four others, is accused of defrauding investors out of $35 million through a scheme involving fake deals for medical supplies and other products. Weinstein had previously been convicted of defrauding investors out of $230 million and was serving a 24-year sentence before Trump commuted his term. After his release, Weinstein allegedly orchestrated a new scheme to solicit money from investors through a company called Optimus Investments Inc. He and his co-conspirators are now facing wire fraud conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges.
