Unveiling the Dark Secrets of the Gilgo Beach Serial Killer

DNA evidence linking the suspect, Rex Heuermann, to the Gilgo Beach murders has been found on a discarded pizza crust. Investigators observed Heuermann throwing away a pizza box in Manhattan and collected the crust for analysis, which matched a mitochondrial DNA profile from a male hair found on a victim's body. Heuermann has pleaded not guilty to six counts of murder and is considered the prime suspect in the murder of a fourth victim.
