"Venezuelan Teen Arrested in Times Square Shooting Incident"

A 15-year-old Venezuelan migrant, Jesus Alejandro Rivas-Figueroa, was arrested in Yonkers less than 24 hours after a chaotic shooting in Times Square that injured a tourist and involved firing at a police officer. The teen, suspected of a robbery-gone-wrong, was taken into custody and is likely to be charged as a juvenile with attempted murder of a police officer. Rivas-Figueroa, along with two other teens, allegedly attempted to shoplift from a store when he fired a .45-caliber handgun, injuring a Brazilian tourist. The NYPD has also linked him to other incidents, and investigators are working to determine the involvement of the other teens.
