Education Department Investigates Top Universities for Antisemitism and Islamophobia Allegations

The Department of Education has launched investigations into seven schools, including Cornell University, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania, following complaints of alleged incidents of antisemitism and Islamophobia. The investigations, which include five antisemitism cases and two Islamophobia cases, are the first of their kind since the October 7 Hamas terror attack on Israel. The schools risk losing federal funding if they fail to comply with the recommendations made by the Department of Education. The investigations were launched under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, which mandates that universities and K-12 schools provide a discrimination-free environment for all students.
