The Struggle of US Graduates with Kids: Juggling Student Debt and Multiple Jobs

US graduates who are also parents are grappling with the burden of student debt as the repayment pause comes to an end. Many of these individuals, who faced the challenges of parenting, working multiple jobs, and studying full-time, are concerned about how they will manage their loan payments while meeting basic needs like childcare and housing. The debt, which often exceeds the actual cost of education, has a disproportionate impact on Black student parents. The lack of resources and systemic inequalities contribute to their higher debt burden. Advocacy for student loan forgiveness and support for student parents is crucial to address the financial struggles they face.
