TL;DR

HBO has confirmed that the show "Winning Time," which focuses on the Showtime era Lakers, will not be renewed for a third season. The decision comes as a result of the ongoing writer's strike and cost-cutting measures. Despite the show's popularity and the desire to continue telling the longer story of the Lakers organization, the second season finale will mark the end of the series.
