Hollywood Writers and Studios to Resume Negotiations Next Week

Contract negotiations between Hollywood's writers and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers are set to resume next week, potentially ending the 4 1/2-month-long writers strike. The talks will focus on issues such as pay, job security, and the regulation of artificial intelligence. While there are no plans yet to settle the actors strike, California lawmakers have voted to allow striking workers, including actors and screenwriters, to claim unemployment benefits, although it is uncertain if Governor Newsom will sign the bill due to the state's insolvent unemployment benefits fund.
