Jason Aldean's Controversial Music Video Sparks Backlash and Praises American Values

TikTok users have discovered that country singer Jason Aldean's music video for his song "Try That In a Small Town" features footage from protests outside of the US, including Canada and Ukraine. The video, which praises American small towns, includes clips of flag burning and police confrontations from the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests. Content creator Destinee Stark pointed out that much of the footage is stock footage and not from small-town America as depicted in the song. Aldean defended the video, claiming that all the clips are real news footage. The video has faced criticism for being filmed at a courthouse where a Black man was lynched in 1927, and it has since been pulled from Country Music Television.
