"Super Mario Bros." aims for $125M, "Air" targets $16M debut at box office.

"The Super Mario Bros. Movie" is expected to earn over $125 million in its opening weekend, leading the domestic box office charts. It will be followed by "Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves" and "Air," a sports drama directed by Ben Affleck. "Air" tells the true story of a Nike shoe salesman who pursues NBA rookie Michael Jordan for a deal to wear their shoes. Amazon Studios spent $40 million to market the movie, which is one of the rare streaming-backed movies to get a traditional theatrical release.
