70-Year-Old Ugandan Woman Defies Odds, Gives Birth to Twins

A 70-year-old woman in Uganda has given birth to twins, becoming one of the oldest women to do so. Safina Namukwaya underwent IVF treatment using a donor egg and her partner's sperm. The babies were born prematurely at 31 weeks and are currently in stable condition. This is Namukwaya's second delivery in three years, and she expressed her desire to have children after being mocked for being childless. Advances in medicine have made it possible for women to give birth later in life, with IVF being one of the techniques used.
