Calgary Daycare E. coli Outbreak: Investigation, Infections, and Health Violations

Canadian officials are investigating a major E. coli outbreak that has affected 264 children in Calgary daycares. The outbreak is believed to have originated from a kitchen operated by Fueling Brains, which provides food to daycare centers. The kitchen was found to have critical violations, including a pest infection and improper handling and transportation of food. Six children are undergoing dialysis due to kidney failure, while others have been diagnosed with haemolytic uraemic syndrome. The affected daycares have been temporarily closed, but some have been allowed to reopen. The kitchen will remain closed until it is deemed safe.
