COVID-19 Hospitalizations Surge Nationwide

The CDC Director, Dr. Mandy Cohen, has stated that the US is experiencing a nationwide increase in COVID-19 cases following the Thanksgiving holiday, with a 10.6% increase in emergency room visits and a 10% increase in hospitalizations. The test positivity rate has also risen by 1.2%. Despite the ongoing flu season and peak of RSV, COVID-19 remains the respiratory virus causing the most hospitalizations and deaths. The Midwest and Mid-Atlantic states have seen the most significant increases in cases, with Minnesota reporting a 50% rise compared to pre-Thanksgiving levels.
