UPS Union Urges White House Non-Intervention Amidst Looming Strike Threat

The president of the Teamsters, Sean O'Brien, has asked the White House not to intervene if UPS workers go on strike as negotiations between the delivery company and the union have reached a standstill. The union, representing 340,000 workers, has threatened a strike if a new contract is not reached by the July 31 deadline. O'Brien emphasized that the union does not need outside involvement in the dispute and wants the White House to stay away. The Teamsters represent over half of UPS's workforce, and if a strike occurs, it would be the first in 25 years.
