Trump Co-Defendants Seek Federal Court for Georgia Election Interference Cases

Fulton County prosecutors have pushed back against efforts by three "alternate electors" appointed by former President Donald Trump to have their cases moved to federal court. The defendants, charged with impersonating a public officer and forgery, argued that their actions qualified them as federal officials. However, prosecutors argued that the defendants were private parties who did not transform into public officials by committing a crime. The judge has taken the matter under advisement and will issue a ruling at a later date.
