Honoring Lives Lost: 9/11 Remembrance Ceremonies Across Massachusetts, Virginia, and Rochester

Communities in Massachusetts honored the lives lost on September 11th with various events and ceremonies. The Massachusetts 9/11 Fund, along with Governor Maura Healey and Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, paid tribute to the victims at the Statehouse in Boston, including a reading of the names and a moment of silence. The Madeline Amy Sweeney Award for Civilian Bravery was presented to four individuals who rescued a woman after a building explosion. Other activities included a formal commemoration, a blood drive, and volunteers packing meals for those in need.
