Hawk Fire Remains Uncontained as Winds Build and Evacuations Expand

The Hawk Fire near Reno remains 0% contained at about 15,000 acres as winds up to 30–35 mph are expected to raise fire activity. Evacuations and warnings cover North Valleys, Somersett and northwest Reno, with no clear timeline for reentry. About 720 personnel, 95 engines, 14 crews, 10 helicopters and 9 dozers are actively battling the blaze. NV Energy reports nearly 10,000 customers without power due to emergency de-energization, and gas service is off for roughly 250 customers. The Nevada National Guard has been mobilized to assist with aerial firefighting and security, and officials will hold a briefing and community meeting as conditions remain dynamic and drone restrictions are in place.
